Today we got the package that Gordo’s mom sent from Brasil. Along with them I got 2 issues of the “US Weekly”that Gordo subscribed for me earlier. Wow.Great magazine. I mean, it’s all about Fashion, dressing and gossips. No wars,no politics, no Iraq, no suicide bombers, no Financial report, no economy, not even advertisment. Great, no?
Ok, seriously, today I finally managed to go to the fabric market again. Got some swatches and new accessories(things that I never thought of using before). It really makes one feel terrible under that heat and traffic. I will have to go a couple more times. It’s so huge I can never cover it all in one trip.
PS. I am Rudolfa again. there is a huge red pimple on my nose.

My dad bought 16 big crabs and 12 shrimps the size of baby lobsters. Apart from this he bought smaller shrimps, shells and fish. I am going to have so much seafood this weekend.
Afternoon I went out with mom and bought myself a Thai dye grape color dress with uneven hem. Very different and very beautiful.
Also I met up with Nancy and talked about our plans.

It’s been a very challenging week, reason being there was so much to wrap up in a short time, and especially everything was practically field work–under such scorching weather. However, by now, TGIF night, most of the stuff has been completed. If I hadn’t decided to go to Shenzhen for the weekend, I could actually finish everything that’s on the do-list…
On Kim’s side I’ve learned that making profit ain’t as easy as I thought. The 2 dresses that first came out, although looking good, the cost is on the high side. In fact, I’ve been told that one is so high that makes it not suitable for exporting. I chose a very expensive lining and the cost drastically went up. Tuesday went to check another 2 dresses. One of them, after altering, still is too open too sell, so I am gonna make some lining for it. The other one, I kind of like the design but since May was my model and I looked at her and it scared the sh**t out of me–it does not only show her cleavage A LOT, in fact, it looks like they are squeezing each other trying to jump out! No matter what Kim said, May wouldn’t let go of her hands that were covering her bust area. Looked like I failed. Although, when I wear it there is not such a problem at all, if these are meant for bigger western womem, they are bound to look like that.
And the pricing…it is just so confusing. I have to say there is a lot to be learned yet.
On the school side, Thursday I managed to buy all 7 pairs of shoes with the smallest possible amount of cash. Basically finished up my portfolio and this afternoon Herina helped me with my big display board. She made cactus out of newspaper, starch glue and poster paint. May passed me gossips that I had no idea about. Mark still passed by the classroom and had to come in and warned me not to stand like that, otherwise “everyone who passes by will have a hard-on”. And Herina is still crazy as ever…. But since Mary’s class graduated, it has been much quieter.
Familywise we finished Lost third season and Desperate housewives third season. Now we got nothing to watch.

At 10pm I had a vege salad, oxtail soup, a huge steak, chocolate ice-cream and half a cup of coffee. Before that I also had some potato chips and chicken nuggets. After that I had oysters(which gave me garlic breath)and sips of beer.
This is so turn-off, I know. hohoho
I really don’t deserve to be slim. But I will try very hard not to do night-stuffing too often.
By the way in my opinion dinner still is better when you have it in a quiet place, with slow music preferably. Not very comfortable When you have a steak and watch people dance with “let’s get loud”.
Movie! I have to watch a movie before going to sleep. This way there’s time for digestion.

Victoria’s bf is a hair stylist who works in the hotel salon near Ikea. She arranged us a free photoshoot session for graduation in the salon today. I was terribly late. Appointment was 11am and I just left home that time. When I got there, it was almost twelve. Luckily, Mark was pissed, and unpissed himself, pissed again and by the time I arrived, it happened that it was the unpissed turn. I slipped in quietly but I was the last to be prepped.
No, correcte it, I was the last but I prepped myself. I did my make-up, and was very impatient and in the end I just tied the hair up by myself and walked into the studio. I really hate taking pictures. especially being taken by strangers.
After that the whole group of girls walked out of the hotel towards the Macau restaurant nearby. That kind of scene made us look like a group of hookers just off work and Mark is probably our pimp.
After brunch we parted and May and I went to the pattern-makers. 2 of my samples are ready. I was gonna pick them up and show Kim. When we got there my dresses were already hanging in the room and May was about to ask:”Which company is making these, they are so pretty!”
2 designs, 4 dresses. I feared for the worst, but they turned out better than I expected.
Later I delivered the samples to Kim. May was my model. We took some pics and these are going to be sent to the U.S. customers.
Kim love my dresses. He said his customers are gonna like them. (I really hope so because I am not too crazy about them myself…)
Kim had my dresses hung in the window display. And soon people coming in, checking them out and asking for price. I was there for half an hour, and quite a few customers showed interest to the dresses! It really surprised me.
Honestly, I do not like them. But I do hope they will attract people who like simple but elegant stuff. If they are looking for anything special, there is nothing there. At this piont, 2 things will make me happy: either the dress come out that makes me completely fall in love with it, or they sell well. I just hope they sell well now.
I am really anxious to see how the other 4 samples come out next week. Today I realized one of the dresses might be too sexy to sell, and changed a bit. But I am still worried about how they turn out…

Oh by the way I forgot to mention, this afternoon Jenny told me that the 2 red fish Gordo had just purchased, like to chew off other fish’s tail! I looked closely and found out that many of our old fish has broken tails and fins now. The “spider fish”’s fins are all messed up! I don;t have much sympathy for little fish. I found it more funny than tragic.
That evening when Gordo put the new batch of fish in the tank I noticed that the bottom feeder was not happy. He seldom moved and he always had a poker face. But somehow I just sensed that he was not happy. One week later he died. He died a slow death. Not exactly, because he was belly-up but still alive, I flushed him down the toilet. This proved me right. He was sad for a long time.
The only fish I cared about is dead. Now they can take care of themselves and chew each other’s tail off.

Sunday morning I woke up and it was around 11.
Gordo asked what’s for lunch and I misunderstood that we were eating out.
So for a change I showered, brushed teeth and changed to nice clothes. Then he walked in and said, what kind of take-out…mm…noodles…black pepper sphagetti?…
Instantly hair was tied up in a knot, clothes dropped, back to my home uniform.
So we started a movie and made some pop-corns.
Tried the Taiwanese take-out, expensive and not good.
Those movies were good though. In the morning we watched La parfum(Right spelling? wrong? I don’t know French). Evening watched Dejavú. Although I didn’t quite follow everything, it was good in the end, and it was not dejavú by the way. Denzel Washington looks good. Very often age gives men more character and makes them more attractive
(my opinion …). What does it give women…wrinckles…experience…mm..
In the afternoon for a momment I had this idea of re-arranging the little work-room,like tidy yp the huge closet, move the drafting table to the center, add some shelves because my stuff is piling up…but I went to the super and when i came back I lost the momentum.
My schoolmate Jenny was around and came for a short visit in the afternoon too. and before that I did some stupid grading homework and copied some notes.
tomorrow I really plan to work harder…

Another hot day.
Clifford bus broke down in Dongfeng Road in the morning. For afternoon bus i stood under a tree that barely shaded me for half an hour, and the momment we got on, the AC stopped working.
A few Cantonese aunties in the back kept complaining and this cooled me down a bit. At least not only I that have a problem with clifford’s cranky buses.
In the evening Gordo took me to the city to meet up Mira. She and I were going to have a dinner to celebrate her coming birthday. Our choice was the Spanish restaurant in Jieshe Liu Rd.
Was it Friday the 13th or what, the restaurant was closed! without telling me…
So we went across the street to the Turkish place. We had a good meal there. Yogurt, Tuna salad, Lamb pizza, assorted Kababs and Milk pudding. After that we tried to walk the food off by checking around the stores nearby, but we were still very full.
Went across the street again, got the cake and waited for our vehicle again. The problem of living in the suburb and don’t drive a car is that each time u hang around a tad longer in the city you wind up getting home pretty late. However, it’s been a pleasant evening!
Lately I’ve been dreaming weird dreams. Cat, dog, rabbit, turtle, fish…
