Our first neighbor friend came for tea this afternoon. It was through my Mom that we got to know each other. We’ve been living in this condo for 4 years now and I don’t even have a nodding aquaintence here. Hard to believe but it’s true. Mark calls me “my bitchy-looking young Taitai”. I am not as aggressive as I look but I almost never take the step to say hello first…
Anyway, this family is also from Chaoshan area, our Homie. Very happy old couple+very sweet little 2-year-old girl. Tan Tan is afraid of kids.
Tomorrow Mom and I are going to pay a visit back.

Mom tried to braid my hair and accidentally discovered a new hair-style that works for me. She is becoming more and more useful now
She can even helps me with my design work. And I like to have some company when I go to fabric market. It’s great.

It seems the mysterious bleeding of Tan is not her period. She is not precoxious. The other night she was biting a bone and her tooth fell off. Thanks God.

I haven’t been blogging much lately.
It’s because I reduced my social activities down to almost zilch. –Even last night’s fashion show.
Half a month earlier Mark had been telling me , oh there is a show on GZ fashion week, and remmember, remember to get tickets ahead of time.
And after booking my 4 tickets(I was gonna bring Mom, Gordo and Mary) 2 days earlier, I flunked.
I was even dressed last night, but then it suddenly poured, cats and dogs. And I said, you know what, let’s stay in and have dinner.
Yen:”So your collection is on the show and you didn’t go.”
Me:”How’s that for being lazy? It’s old anyway.”

But, I have been out the whole day today. I ran some errands with Gordo in the morning. Afternoon I spent 3 hours talking to Lin about our project in Starbucks.(BTW, while waiting for her to show up, I still managed to buy myself a pair of nice-looking shorts in the mall!)
Recently I sort of “accidentally” found myself an ideal job. “Accidentally”–because I didn;t expect it to turn out exactly the way I want it.
It allows me to work from home and use all my resources in my home and in my mind. Of course this is not the only attribute. I love the idea of the business and the whole package it offers.
Anyways I have to see how it goes. Working at home does not mean working any less.

Cool Factor

One beautiful day I decided that my surroundings are “too warm” and it needs to be “cooled down a bit”.
So I looked and chose this statue. After 10 days it came as per ordered.
Good as it is, but it looks like I mis-calculated–Too short for the place I intended it to be.

Yes I am a lazy blogger.
1. Sigh. I really wish David Archuleta had won. Gordo and I are both David fans, except not the same David.
2. Passed my designs to pattern maker yesterday. Will also find someone to sew for me…fabric too nice for me to take any risk. He picked me up from the metro station with his bicycle, in the rain. His whole place is smaller than my bedroom. Toilet is in the kitchen, or kitchen is in the toilet. A bed takes up the whole living area. Makes me feel bad. I will shut up for a while and stop complaining. btw,Very nice guy!
3. Solved some household problems in the morning. I am really fast and efficient.hahaha, sorry no modesty, but I am really fast!!!
The rest, we will just have to wait, and wait.

Bought 2 pieces of beautiful fabric today. Very, very expensive.
It’s still grieving period. Better not get too excited now.
Get down and sketch now.

On the same day 6 years ago Gordo and I met for the 1st time. Ever since then May15 becomes a special day. It’s not exactly an anniversary and we do not always celebrate, but it could always be some excuse to a better meal somewhere, or some fresh flowers to put in the apt, or simply an exclamation of “wow, long time.” I remember this because Gordo’s mobile beeped as a reminder in the morning.

P.S, Today I rolled up the carpet in the living room. Although I left a deep scratch on the wood floor,I am much happier the way it is. Place looks more roomy–cannot afford bigger house? make it bigger visually. I also have been throwing and giving away lots of stuff+order a cool statue.
I have visual fatigueness easily. Can’t stand the same thing everyday. I keep changing around. But it’s not easy to change a country style to an oriental antique style right:P ?

One thing I have a constant love for, is floral print. If one day you find me in plain color, I’ve changed too much. Remind me.
